This was painted on the way to Oklahoma from Chicago. The sunset was a brilliant orange red yellow mix. The Mississippi reflected the sky and looked like molten lava. The city was just starting to show behind the green trees. We were elevated a little higher than the main road so we had a great view of the river. And the arch was standing guard over the state. This is the fourth painting from my Amtrak train series.
